Pet Pantry Volunteers

Pet Pantry Volunteers

We are always looking for new volunteers.  We cannot continue to help the pets without you! We need people to collect food from the collection sites, give out food during distribution events, and help at special events. Volunteers of all ages are welcome!  We can provide certificates for students needing service hours for school, scouts, or other organizations.

You can volunteer at the SPCA PET PANTRY in the following ways:

  • BARREL BUDDIES: Barrel Buddies are responsible for placing barrels in community businesses, establishing a relationship with the business owners, encouraging business owner promotion of the barrel/donations and collecting donated items from the barrels.  Some lifting is required.

  • DISTRIBUTION VOLUNTEERS: Pet Pantry volunteers assist in monthly pet food distribution events.  The events are held monthly.  On event day, volunteers greet clients, register clients, and prepare food and supplies for clients. Some lifting is required.

  • EVENT VOLUNTEERS: Pet Pantry volunteers carry out community collection drives and promotional events throughout the area.  They attend community events, expos, festivals and other events throughout the year to provide information about the Pet Pantry, its services and to encourage community support.

  • COLLECTION DRIVES: Pet Pantry collection drives are short-term, limited duration events hosted and staffed by community businesses and civic organizations.  The Pet Pantry supplies you with all the necessary information and supplies needed for a successful pet food collection drive.

PANTRY PARTNERS: Pantry Partners agree to place a pet food collection barrel in their place of business.  Pantry Partners agree to ‘self-promote’ the collection barrel and sometimes offer discounts on services for members that donate pet food.  Use of social media is highly encouraged.
